SOME BLAZING ARTISTS!
The 2008 finalists in our annual BLAZING SADDLES poster contest.

Every spring we invite area school children to submit art for the BLAZING SADDLES fundraising cycling event posters. And every year, it is a difficult decision to choose a finalist from the many wonderful drawings that we receive. This year was no exception. It was a hard choice, but we managed to select these three finalists, and Madison's picture of the mountains and the child with the bicycle graced our poster. We think you'll agree that the runners-up provided imaginative and delightful work, too. The kids receive some fun Blazing Saddles prizes, and we hope they enjoy doing the art work. Thank you to all of the students and teachers who participated. You warmed our hearts and delighted our eyes with your art work.

This drawing from Madison is on our annual poster. The theme of our Blazing Saddles event is perfectly captured with the awesome mountains, the bicycle, and the happy young rider. And the sun is shining and we really like that on Ride Day! Madison is a 6 year-old from the Winans Elementary School and her teacher this past year was Pat Thums. Congratulations and thank you!

With the option to ride 30 miles (mostly downhill from Wilsall!), many kids ride with their families in Blazing Saddles.

Many thanks to Brooklyn for delighting us with this imaginative and wonderful drawing of the road, the bike, and the scenery we enjoy along the route. Once again that sun is shining! Brooklyn is an 11 year-old from Winans Elementary School and her teacher this past year was Mrs. Raw.

Payden Polsak

Art work from Payden Polsak, the little boy for whom the Payden Memorial Foundation is named, is on the back of the Blazing Saddles Yellow Jersey. The yellow jersey is given to "PD's Pals", riders who raise over $1000 to help kids with cancer. "PD" is one of Payden's nicknames, and "PD's Pals" honors both his memory and those who support Blazing Saddles and the Foundation. Our heartfelt thanks to PD's Pals and all of the fundraisers in Blazing Saddles!
